I had a chance to run my AC Shelby 427 Cobra (Replica) on an auto cross event. I have had the car a year and I have never pushed it in a corner. I figure the streets are not the place to figure out what a car, or driver for that matter, are capable of. Secondly it can get you killed all too quick.
I have to say it was a blast. My biggest problem is that my black paint job is too nice to be scratching it up with rubber cones. Although it is not show car quality in my mind, it is darn nice and I get many comments on the paint. So I really was reluctant to push it even under these ideal conditions. I was impressed with just how fast it will go around a corner, provided you control the loud peddle smoothly. I did get it sideways a few time and was equally impressed with how well the car will handle. Dang I do love this car!
If you ever get a chance to run on a auto cross course, I highly recomend it, even if you have to drive a POS 4 popper.
