I own a '02 Durango w/4.7L (next generation)V8 engine. After a cold start,I feel the engine surging upon light application of the throttle,
approximately 1/4-1/2 inch of travel. The engine has never stalled, and this problem disappears once the engine reaches operating temperature. I noticed this problem within days of ownership and the dealer claim they could find nothing wrong. I now have 3,500 miles on the odometer and the problem still persist. I recently purchased the Autoxray Propack Scanner Kit demonstrated on TGG. I did a scan of the vehicle and the Short and Long Term Fuel Trim parameters indicate an engine running on the lean side. I'm in the process of gathering info on this problem and will be in touch with the dealer. I've owned a "99 Intrepid w/2.7L V6 and a '00 Intrepid R/T w/3.5L V6, both new vehicles, and have never experienced this sort of problem with either engine. Is this normal operation for an engine of this type on cold start-up?
