carguy, keep things safe and get with us here to tell of any special moments, it sounds like a "whirlwind" of a time..lol Have fun and be safe, some people are not them selfs in front of a camera.

well friday morning was a bust because there were still sevral things that needed to be done (buy gas, fix dead battery on truck). Headed out saturday morning and got there fine. Helicopter guy was suposed to show up at noon. At 1 he comes but his helicopter was broken, so he had another one form a friend wo owed him a favor. This turned out for the better as this helicopter had a bubble on the bottom so our friend could take better shots. By saturday afternoon/evening we had over 2 hours of footage. And that evening i took a nasty spill off of my bike. I over shot a 80 foot gap over a dried up creek, ended up jumping about 100 feet, and hit my face on tha bars hurting my nose pretty bad and busted hte bike in to several parts. But it wasnt as bad as it sounds.

we blew the engine out of the ranger early sunday morning. Havent pulled it apart yet but we think we lost a piston or two. We decided to get the silverado to tow the ranger back but popped two tires going over a jump on the way to the ranger. its a good think we keep 2 spares on each truck. Got the ranger back to camp and hung out for a while.

we decided to race the tacoma against the silverado. we were having a fun time with 2 trucks and 4 bikes racing arround. the bikes were getting low on gas so i volenteered to go back and get more. Just before i got back to camp i got a call on the CB from the guys n the tacoma saying they flipped it. In a hurry i headed back out the the area but i took a more direct route that had several hills and lots of places to get air. I did have my harness on and was wearing my suit and helmet. On the way out to where they flipped i fliped the silverado. It caught on fire and blew up (literaly). Im guessing the flames got back to the fuel cell somehow but im not sure as i have not seen the carnage yet. I got out safley, however i did not have the visor down on my helmet. My face is burned between my upper lip and below my eyes from temple to temple. Im very grateful for the mask under the helmet and the suit and gloves i was wearing.

pretty $hitty weekend considering we killed all 3 of our trucks and im out a new honda 250. EVERYONE: wear seat belts! Had I not been wearing my harness who knows what condition i would be in right now. same goes for the fire suit, gloves and the helmet.

Anyone here a burn victim?

What findda cash you get for a win. Cuz you just lost a ßhit load of money, are the races worth it?

ehh, for this past season we won about 15k. That basically took care of our rent from june2002 and will cover us until august 2003. It also covered all the tools and equipment we bought. so basically the only out of pocket expense of this year were the trucks and that money came from work weve done for people. What we win at a race, if we win, usually isnt much. we do it for fun, not as a source of income.

Thanks for the lowdown on your weekend, Man I am sorry about the losses but like you said, you have your life to thankfull for. As far as being a burn victim, no not me. I know of a few and it is no picnic. Thanks again for getting with us so soon. Will we see any footage on "Caught on Tape" shows? lol

Dang, you did get burned. I had a friend that was trapped in a trailor and had to only get out once the alumnium melted and he could get out through the walls. He was not even reconizable for a few months. I hope you are taking the doctors words serious, the infection rate is so high and even the wind is your enemy. Good luck to you and take care, it is one of those " the rest of your life things" and what you do now is going to be with you for ever.

only a few areas need to be grafted and its only about 1 and 1/2 square inch total area. a few patches on the cheeks and a small spot on my nose. not as bad as it could be. most of it will just heal with ointment and time. They can also take skin form the top of my thigh since it will be less painful in the long run because i dont sit on the top of my thigh. the only time i put pressure on the top of my thigh is maybe when im sleeping so i tink thats the route im going to take.

went into the shop today. looks like the silverado is done for. the tacoma just needs body panels. drained the oil out of the ranger and lots of pieces of metal came out. Pulled the pan off to find the #2 and 7 pistons are shot. and my bikes frame is bent really bad. I think im going to try to make my oun chopper bike.
