I have an 88 ford mustang, 5.0, its my first standard car. when I first got it, you could feel the power on the shifting stick when you floor it, know you can't. It runs sluggish and you could feel the increase power on the engine when you floor it but not on the speed. I drove it for a month with real burned oil, that you could hear the lifters and I was not getting oil pressure.also i replaced my factory clutch cable and quadrent with an adjustable performance one. when I engage on the clutch peddle and release it the transmission jerks. Do I need to loosen or tighten up the clutch cable. If you could please give me some advice on this problems.

first check and see if your clutch is slipping. watch your tach. and roll about 20 mph stick it in 3rd 4th and accelerate and see engine revs and the car doesnt keep up. as far as your clutch jerking it could miss adjusted,oill on the disc from a leaky rear main seal,or a worn input shaft sleeve on the trans. normaly on adjustment you want one-half to one inch free play at the top.
