I was looking for information on Focus project they are running on TV.. I guess they are so busy working on TV show..
they shouldn't advertise their website saying to find more information about In-Focus project go to their website..
I hope they publish all information regard to their in-focus project.

Just what was the idea with the "Focus"? I like how they look, but I see so many on the used car lots that they just have to be a real problem car. I like the look of the wagon more.
I have a quick question what year did the vett come out, it was 56 right?

as for the focus, my neighbor has an SVT model, and my i say that it is very fast. crank windows, manual seats, non-power locks, basically no frills, but fast. I believe its a 190hp 4 banger. I really like it. If i were going to get a focus, i would only get the svt.

Fast, but I'd hate to take a turn in it. Never driven in one, but I can't imagine it as much of a sports car. dunno...

The first year for production Vettes was 1953. It came with the 6 cylinder blue flame engine. That body style was used 3 years, 53, 54, and 55, however, the 55 had the 265 V-8. The body style was changed in 56, and was used until 62. There was a slight change in the car in 58 when it went from single headlights, to dual headlights. In 1963, the Vette took another body style change and that style was used until 1967. The shark look was introduced in 1968 ..........

weve got some curvy roads arround here and id say it handles pretty good, handles better after a drop and larger tires with lower profile tires. Id say it drives as well as most luxury sedans do.
as for the vetts....dont the 55's have a gold v to indacate a v8 engine?

The main problem with the Focus is the 12 recalls it's had. I know every car has a problem here and there, but 12 seems like a lot to me. Maybe that's why a lot of them are on used car lots.

I have had only two new vehicles, and any service needed by the dealer was just a bad ordeal. The one thing I did get out of the work performed on my 2000 Sonoma was the tools left on the radiator and battery after their third front end alignment. They promise the world to sell the vehicle and then cant even get to the phone to return a call after the sale.

That's a shame. You know dealerships make most of their $$$ from the service department. Judging by the way some people are treated, I'm suprized there are still dealerships around.

i was watching the t.v.(speed channel) and thought i heard something about a one template rule that nascar was going to implement. great news(not), now all the cars can look alike, before long the drivers will have to fit a template so no one can cheat. lol

They do have a weight limit in place, I think. I remember hearing some crying about the smaller drivers having to add weight to their cars to meet the minimum weight. I think that the cars should be the ones in check. If your driver is to big (Jimmy Spencer) they should not have the rules changed to accomidate them. The car should be the thing that is meeting weight classes. Also in NHRA they add weight to the bikes to make them all way the same with any size driver. I dont agree with that policy

There is nothing wrong with minimum weight regulations, and the small guys should actually be happy because they can add weight where they want the weight. I'm sure the teams that have to add weight will use this to their advantage. (i.e. lower in the car to move the center of gravity lower and at the corner of the car that the weight will do the most good.) And by the way, NASCAR has gone to one template for the top template. The teams can still be distinct in the nose area (enough to distinguish a Ford from a Chevy) but little else. Here is where I would like to see a little latitude and not have the same shaped cars for all. It sure was interesting when the Superbirds, Cyclones and Chevelles were running back in the 1970's, but I guess that's ancient history now and shows my age.

I agree with the thoughts of the 70s cars being a real race car. To just watch the classic racing on Speedvision is as good as watching the current racing in Nascar. I am a avid fan of nascar, but some of the races have lost my interest to sit for four to five hours and give the whole afternoon go to watch follow the leader. This is off the wall, but I have a few nascar games on the pc and one of them is Nascar legends and one is Nascar 1998 and if you take the stock configuation from 98 version and add it to the Legends cars, they slow down dramaticly. I was amazed at the reality of the aero part of the games.

even though the new engines produce so much power-the power transfer to the groung is much the same. the main reason for the speed of the newer nascar racers is due to aerodynamics, it seems that nascar is trying to make all the cars look the same so no one team will have a distinct advantage making it a driver's race and not the auto manufacturers'

DUKES OF HAZZARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think they should ship in cars from detroit and just put the logos and sponsors on the cars. Keep it stock, just like back in the day. Seriously, just take cars right from a showroom. The open wheel leagues have a set weight for driver and car. I know that in F1 the teams are not allowed to touch the engines, they must be used in stock form from the company. Its all up to the driver and spoiler setup. Its called stock car racing, but even a monte carlo SS from a dealer is a far cry from the machine Jr. drives.

in the earlier days of nascar the cars were stock in body, the lights were replaced with covers and the interiors were sparse at best, they even used the stock steering wheels-they just covered them up with foam and tape. darrell waltrip was mostly responsible for power steering
christine made number 10 huh, that was one bad b****

Well you obliovsly seen the new one, it start fast and goes from there. The old one has like a 45 minute car chase at the end of the movie. It is good, it is just that you know the hotter tricks and stunts now and how the show is absent of them..It is worth watching though..

I like the original gone in 60 better. I saw the making of it a while back on speed vision (yes, I said vision). They had absoultly no money at all and didnt even close the streets for their shots. There is one scene where he walks up to a building and puts his key in the door. The next shot is of him on the inside. They didnt even have acess to that building, he just walked up to one and reaches for the handle and the next shot of him in a building makes you assume he is in the same building.

First off, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS IS THA' GREATEST CAR MOVIE EVAR!!!!!!!
ITS MAD PHAT YO!!
Actually I thought it was kinda horrible. There are many inaccuracies in it. I'll admit that when I first saw it, I didn't catch them, but now that they've been pointed out they're pretty obvious.
Second. O.k., so the Vette came out in 53, I knew that. First V-8 in the vette was 55. I knew that too. I read somewhere, in motor trend 1993 issue, top ten, they had the top 10 vettes in there. It said that 55 had the vette available with 6 cylinder and V-8. I know that not always information can be 100% accurate. So is this true??? I'd like to own a 55 6cyl vette even though its worth less than a V-8, but I prefer to be different. Thats why I drive a Protege instead of a civic.
Last thing. About there being an abundance of Foci, on the used lots. I used to work at a G.M. dealership in 99-00 when the Pontiac Sunflowers and Grandams and Bonnevilles all had their makeovers. When the used car manager went to the auction, he would come back with Sunflowers, Grandams and others by the boat load. Theyall had low mileage mostly under 30,000.
They were all former rental/fleet cars etc.... Which probably explains why there are so many of them on the lots.
Since this was a G.M. dealer they would naturally buy lots of G.M. cars for their used lot, and I would ssume that a Ford dealership would do the same.
Smaller independant lots on the otherhand, I would assume would get most of their inventory from the auctions, or the backlots at new car dealerships.

Its all just what you like. I seen The Fast and the Furious. I bought it just because I think the sister is fine. But of course it is going to have flaws in it. My Mother asked me once why I would watch wrestling (years ago) and I told her I knew it was fake, but it is entertaining and that her soaps were not real (thank goodness) and it is just something she likes. She said "I like that answer" and then they came out with the good wrestling, WOW- Woman of Wrestling. The camera man should have won a award for the "non-biased" shots he took. Well, that was it for watching wrestling while I was in her home..lol
