no cake-no birthday celebration. my mom said no more birthday celebrations for her, last year the fire dept showed up to find out why there seemed to be a power surge-reports of brighter than usual light from her house. her words not mine-lol

Hay, that's nothing. Last time they lit the birthday candles for me, the glare off the bald spot on my head, along with the light from the candles, I had two planes try to land in our back yard!!!

I even got a ticket the other day from our fine state troopers. Seems I forgot to put my hat on, and I was going west at sundown, and ran 4 people off the road with the glare.

If this wasn't a "G" rated forum, I could have lots of things to say about this. However.......we will keep it clean.

Your welcome for the remark Danny, and thank you as well. Vettonr, I have been acused of doing just that, I really do eat at my desk and watch tv from it as well and with the new shift at work, I can stay up as long as I want with no danger of oversleeping as I am a morning person that works nights. Plus I love this forum. It is a blast and I got the bug from a movie that had someone offering advice and not letting thier identity known. I guess I got inspired..lol I have a 14.07 post per day average and it does appear that I need to get out more..lol

Thanks, house is going good. We are doing finish work this and last week. Last night I did the base board of the first floor. next weekend we are tiling the batha nd mud room. Then just painting and waiting for the pulmer and elct. to get doen so we can put in for an a living permit. Hopeful no more then a month if we keep after the pulmer and elect. S 10 I am glad that you like my joke. I am sure that I can find a few more for you. Today the resteraunt is reopening and I have to cook on my off night, what a way to start back up huh. Anyways that is where I am off to now, rainy out though so I dont think we will be busy.

I thought you were remodeling a house, now it seems that you all have just outright built one. Awsome. In getting a "living permit" will you be getting a new address as well? You are getting some real good hands on knowledge there, and will come back to you as payment one day, trust me.

Yeah we rebuild is a better word. We striped EVERYTHING out of it all the was up was stick famin and the clat boards*(outside boards for those that dont know, befor plywood) And then we added 14 feet to the back 2 farma *(farmer) porchs a 28 x 30 garage with to floors. So it has been a build from scratch of sorts. I want to build a small little garage 1 bay for my fairlane someplace that Ican work on it without getting in the fathers way in the garage. So all that I have learn will surely help me. I was surprised how much I knew, I was talking to my friedns that is voc, vocational sp??, school for building trades, he has been in it for 2 years and I knew more then him.

all the book learning is in no way as good as hands on.

fotw
02-05-2003, 11:14 PM
it is not book learning though they build a house a year the class that is and several sheds in the beging, but very true point nothing better then hands on
