I have a 2000 Acura Integra and I was wanting to know if anybody had good tips on cleaning the faded black windshield wiper arms to make them look black again and for getting rid of the haze that is on the acrylic headlight covers. Thanks for your help

Try Mother's Back to Black. Mother's is a trade name of wax products and can be found at auto parts stores.

Actually, your are not going to believe this, I used oven cleaner (easy-off, etc) on mine and it removed some of the yellowness from the headlights, just be sure that none of the cleaner gets sprayed over the paint of the car.

I used a #1 buffing compound with a buffer they look like new on a furd much safer than oven cleaner this will work on plastic windows on a rag top. That's how I found it out seven bucks a bottle vs a couple a hundred for a new window, i had nothing to loose. If it didn't work i still had to get a window, but it did so i bought tool's insted what a deal

Speaking of tools...................
We had a very nice day last week and I decided to spend it on the river (still 2 feet of ice on the lake) and in the garage.
My son and I cleaned out the toolbox and wiped all the tools down with a rag soaked in WD-40. I have a very large toolbox and Jeff (my son) had quite a mess in it. We got all the tools cleaned and laid out and I discovered to my chagrin (wasn't surprised) that allot of stuff was missing. So after some yelling, screaming and loud threats of violence, I patiently listened to Jeff tell me that he didn't lose my tools so I must have. I decided the heck with it (scared of jail) and headed over to Sears.
$269.00 later I handed the bill to Jeff and took all my new stuff home.
Yesterday I came home, noticed Jeff was working on his truck, and went over to see what was going on. He was replacing the belts on his pickup. No big deal, right? He started to explain to me that he was unable to get a bolt loose on the power steering pump and could I help him. Usually he wont ask for help so I knew he was really having problems.
I looked and he had rounded the bolt head off. When I asked him about that he explained that he had used my 1/2 inch breaker bar, a 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch adapter (couldn't find a 1/2 inch drive 9/16 socket) and a 3/8 inch drive 9/16 inch socket and a cheater pipe because the bolt was "too tight". Naturally my next question was "why is the bolt rounded off" His answer? "The socket broke"
Ever have the urge to hit your kid with a cheater pipe?

I can relate to the tail you have. My boy used to use a pair of vise grips on anything he worked on from a radio to a bike wheel. He grew out of it when he needed his own tools. lol

Man, my dad dosent really know much about tools or cars so I never could loose or ruin his tools. But...Using the right tool is important. I learned this today. In fact....it will become todays rant.

I cant figure out how he lost all those tools in the garage. We only work in the garage so they have to be there. I told him all the tools he finds are his since he paid for the new ones. He is not even interested in looking.
By the way, since he paid for the news ones he was unable to understand why I was so angry when he broke my new socket.
Learned something else too. Having never broke a Craftsman Tool before I was under the impression that ya cruise on down to Sears and they give you a new one. NOT. They mail it in and mail you back a new one. Sure hope I dont need a deep 9/16 inch socket until I get the new one back.

i thought that was the policy too, i took a 1/2" wrench back once and they gave me a new one, must be a change of policy

If ya call 100 miles from a Wall-Mart remote I would have to say yes. The sears here has tools, garden tractors, TV's but not much else.

I know that most everyone has the power to change what they want to. I did not like being alone and I have been divorced three times I took a long look at what mattered and what did not. I am not butting in and dont think that, just offering a point of view. I know it is a bad thing to regret fights that was really meaningless. Although I understand about the tools and at 19 years old and still not showing respect if at the least they are not his, I would lock the box and he would rethink the importance of respecting your tools or the fact they are borrowed.

Thanks S-10 blazer for the input. I am not mourning the loss of his mother. I am very happy she is gone. I have managed (lucky) to marry a wonderful woman who is the best thing that ever happened to me.
As a matter of fact, Jeff's mom left me (we were not married) before he was born. I did not meet him until June of last year. I am glad I met him finally, and I have never missed his mom. I regret that for his own safety I may send him back to his mom. I think sometimes he wants to see how far he can push me.

I think the fact that you have only known him since june is the reason there is a respect problem. Dont you think that if you were his age and met your dad there would be some weirdness?

hang in there s10 at least you got to know your son. thats better than not getting to knowing him at all. He proubley feels that you had no intrest in him and his mother filled his head with B.S. about you women get nasty on guys they have kids with and don't marry or get divorced. my x did the same thing and when the kids got older it was tuff on me. and we were married for 9 years.

Just to tell you this, he has three terrific sons himself now and that just makes me older than I car to admit..lol

It is amazing how kids from age 12 to about 22 think you're the dumbest thing on two legs. My boy is 23 now and he's got this sudden intelligence that tells him the old man wasn't so dumb after all. Somehow, this makes all the aggrevation worth it. :D

The only thing good about that s10 is you're still young enough when they're older to do stuff with them. Not like some guys who have kids in their 50's. Shoot, by the time they get interesting, they're in their 70's. Not cool. :(
