the national street rod association had their show here this weekend and the cruising was fantastic as expected. there were over 1900 cars at the show and many participated on the cruise nights(fri-sat). i believe a good time was had by all that attended.

We here in this area of Tennessee have a production called Rod Run Weekend, only thing is it last all year practicly, the roads are simular to being parked in a driving lane. The atmosphere is like electricity and all walking are car buffs and there are no strangers there. The town is called Pigeon Forge and weekend after weekend there is some show going on and I once got caught on the top of the ferris wheel at a park and was up there for about 45 minutes and watched the F100 pick up parade go by and it was the best seat around.

Yeah, I've been to Pigeon Forge for the Rod Run. Lots and lots of nice rides.

You going to the NSRA Street Rod Nats South on May 2-4 in Knoxville? I'm sure that'll be a good show. Probably won't be 1900 cars, though. I don't know, could be. I haven't been to a show there in a while.

I just found the web site for the Knoxville show.

http://www.nsra-usa.com/south.htm

Looks like they're planning on 3500 cars. Wow!

Yeah, I thought about going on Sat. That's usually the best day. Everybody heads home on Sun.
I printed out the address and phone #. I'll give them a call Monday and check prices. I'll let you know.
That would be fun, to get together and check out the rides.

I called the NSRA today. Admission price for spectators at the Knoxville show is $10. Sounds like a deal to me. Wanna go?

Yea, I think that would be cool! I would have to do it on the Saturday show, the 10 bucks is good and we need a way to meet up there, if you have a cell phone, let me know in a PM and I will send mine and when one of arrives, we just call the other. It sounds good. I try to get most of the shows in my area each year and that is close for me, about 80 miles for you though. I think.

S10, you missed it....
I went to the NSRA Street Rod Nats South in Knoxville today. Man, they had a TON of cars. Too many to look at all of them. I just walked around and drooled (not on the cars) for hours. I think the newest car I saw was a 58. No, come to think of it, there was one Camaro and one Mustang in the vendors displays, but the rest were really nice vintage tin (and a little fiberglass). Beautiful setting around a small lake. Beautiful weather, friendly people and lots and lots of really gorgeous cars.

This was the first year I missed it and although I was not at the park, I seen no less then twenty five great rides in and through out town last night. I went for a drive after work and before and they were everywhere. I am glad you had a great time, the oldlady is telling me to go today but I think I better not.
