the last two days here have been more than just a little hectic, we have had several tornados in oklahoma and much damage. tonight a couple of tornados ripped through here and winds exceeding 70 mph. fortunately my family and friends have escaped the wrath.

I hope that any of our members have to deal with the devastaion that has been dealt this past week by these storms. I am wishing that all of us are prepared for them, it is hard to be completly ready but flashlights, food and cell phones amoung other things need to be gathered and put in a handy sack to grab if possible, even medication that is vital for some of us is a must to have even if you do escape the storm. I am glad you and yours are Ok out there and I did not realize how close you are to the area.

thanks much, we were more or less ready for the storms with the flashlights and such. good point about the meds, i have mine handy all the time(kit) but will remind other of that good advice. unfortunately cell phones are almost useless when emergencies like this happen as the emergency teams seem to use up all the airspace. even the news broadcasters tell everyone to use their cell phones sparingly during an emergency situation.

I did not think about the emergency teams needing it like that, the reason I brought it up with the idea of being trapped and it being the only way of being found. I have just seen Oklahoma city on the news. You are lucky, thats great!

Out here in LA when theres a big accident or somthing like that, they shut off cell service in that area so the emergengy crews can have the air space for data transfers, Radio transmissions and stuff.

They're burning the forests to make crop land. Couple of years ago it was much worse

thanks much, it was pretty tense for some 9 hours(last one) and with the one(tornado) just the day before there wasn't enough time to settle down.
