I am working like an illegal mexican immigrant this summer, and i am deciding what kind of vehicle i am going to get. I was wondering if anyone out there has a Ford Escape... whether they like it.... would recommend it..... pros .... cons... ect. If I am to get one it will be 4WD. THANX!

You'll probably get all kind of responses like buy ford...no, chevy...no, dodge. If you have no real lolayties to any brand, drive them all buy the one that best fits your needs.

I agree. You should get what you want after checking everything out. Let your next one choose you.

As for the Escape. I have seen some good reviews of it. I would get a Liberty or Wrangler Rubicon. Actually the Rubicon is sweet. Selectable lockers, tall gearing, Large tires. Big Price tag, but it is not likely to depreciate. That means I will never own one because I like to get vehicles that have depreciated to $1000 or less. LOL :D

Like the vette guy said, drive them all, don't cost anything. I bought a new truck last summer and before I did, I test drove a Dodge, Chevy and Ford. I didn't bother with any other brands because I wouldn't buy one of them anyway. I was expecting to like the Dodge because we have a 99 Durango that has been a very good auto and a guy a work had a new Dodge truck and he said it was the best thing around. However after driving all three, I found the dodge to be the last choice of what I would want. The Chevy was a nice truck also, but as for myself, I liked the Ford most af all. I liked the way it drove and it had the most room on the inside. I bought a crew cab.
I think my sister-in-law has an Escape and as far as I know, she likes it just fine. Plus just as checking out the different brands, check out the different dealers. Some of them talk a good line and some of them, you may want to smack for acting too sneaky. They will "have to go talk to the manager to see if they can sell it for that price." Remember, they need you more than you need them. Happy hunting.

You may also want to try the sister vehicle Mazda Tribute. Mazda is doing some good deals on their vehicles. As far as reliability goes the only complaint I have heard is that the Escape and Tribute will cut off for no reason. They seem to think it is in the ignition switch.

However do your homework and do like the others have said in the other responses. Happy hunting!!!
