Couldn't you pick a better year engine? 91' 5.0 was a turd. Why not just go all electronic ignition and Fuel Injection since the car will not be stock anymore?

my conversion consist of taking a 302 block and heads out of a 1991 5.0 mustang and installing it in a 1968 302 mustang using points and plug ignition system and edelbrock intake system. The conversion is complete and she purs like a kitten.I used the stock distributor from the 68 motor to fire her up.I now believe this is not the proper distributor gear to be with this cam so i have ordered a pertronix plug and play distributor part #751-d130700 that is meant for the 1968 ignition and intake and now i beleive i will also need to change this pertronix dist gear to a steel gear.
My question is do you folks agree or disagree that i am on the right track?and is there any thing in your opinion i am missing or will need?
