I think you are both wrong...it's filmed in a TV studio that has a mock-up garage in it.

...well maybe so but it's gotta be the nicest, newest 'old shop' I've ever had the pleasure to view. I still prefer their "Shadetree Mechanics" series as it ws much closer to what I actually do, not just dream of.

sy2173 sounds like he knows a lot about the show. Could this be Sam or one of the two Daves? I know they come on here and read from time to time.

Pigpen I will second that, there were alot of good information on the old shadetree programs. A lot of it might have been pretty basic, but not so much of the high tech high money stuff like they have now-a-days. I liked a lot of the old projects they had like the toyota landcruiser.

One of the big problems I have anymore is being able to find their show on at all on weekends. With the old Shadetree show it was always on here at 9:00 Sat. moring on TNN. Now they come in on the speed channel but the time seems to bounce all around.

I agree w/ you. The old Shadetree was very informative & somewhat low-key & affordable weekend projects (for the most part). Crank & crome lasted very shortly & before you knew it, the time slots changed & it took viewers some time to relocate them.

I also really like Shadetree and was disappointed for a few years as Dave and Sam changed there approach. But I am OK with Two Guys and also have grown to like McBride. I like it that SpeedTV has mixed the old with the new episodes and don't just keep re-running the same series over and over again like they do with Dream Car and Sports Car Rev. cuz that SUX.

I wonder why they have not worked out a deal with a video chain store like Blockbuster or Hollywood Video to re-release some of their past shows from their video library. That would be 52 shows a year re-released to a new generation to enjoy. I would enjoy renting some of the earlier shows myself.
