82,
Restored many (any) cars lately ? That salt is mold, it has an 86 or newer SBC under the hood or at least the heads are, (how does he know that ?) and for a 67 in unrestored shape it ain't too bad. The 999,999 mileage is because the seller hasn't a clue what the original milage is. I wouldn't have paid more than $1,500 for it, but that's me. He seemed to have pulled over $4K for it....good for him. Not too many 67's around anymore either. $1,500 for the body and motor and $2,200 in new and used parts the final bid price was only a little over, by my guesstimation. Looks likes some idiot went nuts with the red paint at one time, east coast idea, similar to Chicago style. Yeah, paint it all the same color, that'll make it look right !!! This thing is destined for a full body off resto and should have been priced as such, maybe it's a resonable price, someone thought so......That's what makes the old car collectors market what it is and keeps the value up on restoreable cars. That is a restoreable car, from what I see anyway.

I wouldn't have paid that much for it either. And like I said he had not a clue how many miles it had on it.
The white stuff is mold. Seen it too many times, the owner is trying to rid himself of it because it is not what he expected, not because he is moving. It's beyond his ability and price range to restore. The motor being locked up has no bearing on the project. What does make a large impact is,, 1967 Camaro.......with most of the parts on it. If you have the resources to restore a 67 Camaro then everything is coming apart, including the engine and it's figured in....Like I said, if you know what your are doing. The guy who bought it seemed to think it was worth working on. More power to him......I think he paid only a little too much for it, more than I would have been willing to pay for the amount of work.

scroll down that page, all those parts are for that car and they are included with the price so all it would really need is a new interior, new drivetrain, its got new tires, and a few other things like paintjob and maybe new suspsension and definatly new floorpans and that person has it made

You don't fix that much rust without welding in new parts. The B post anchor is almost gone.
If that part is bad enough to need that kind of repair then plan on finding more. There is enough steel left to repair, unlike others I've seen, but a "body off" is the only solution. "Body off" means a complete disassembly and repair to each area that needs it. To the whole car........

If he was willing to shell out that much for it then I would hope that he knew.....if not then I hope he takes the loss and the car goes on to someone that will restore it.
