S10 swap

Looking for any information anyone may have about swapping a S10 frame on a 1938 body. If not using the S10 frame what will be the best frame to use.

Before anyone can give any advice, your post would require a whole bunch of specifics; make, model, condition, etc. I would think a good place to start would be to match the donor body's wheelbase to the wheelbase of the replacement's frame.

S10 swap

The wheelbase on the 1938 Olds and the S10 chassis (long bed) is almost the same. Less than a inch different in wheel base. Width is also close.

I have never worked with the S10 frame, but I have read that it is a very popular frame to use for exactly what you are talking about. The front A arm set up is ideal for use with a car. I cannot remember specifics, but it is supposed to be fairly easy to adjust ride height. I'm sure they mean it is easy relative to other choices, but may be easier said than done.

If I recall they said the Ford Ranger frame is a heavier frame, but the front suspension set up is difficult to work with, making it undesirable.

Good luck
