Another great actor that we watched as a kid or at least I did has left us today. Andy Griffith was 86. I'm not really shocked because of his age, but it doesn't make it feel any better. We're all getting old.
Some say that I have some weird wishes when I finally leave this world. But Andy was buried five hours after he died. To each is his or her own. *Edit* A little Andy sense of humor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNxLxTZHKM8

I'll bet I know what tune the pallbearers were whistling. RIP Andy.

Ernest Borgnine passed yesterday at the age of 95. RIP 'Skipper' (in reference to "McHales's Navy").

Sherman Hemsley and Chad Everett have died. I didn't think "movin' on up" meant this.

Another hero of ours is gone. Neil Armstrong died at 82. They're saying on the Internet that he had heart surgery two weeks ago.
Just looking at the date that he stepped on the moon, I was just a few months a way from being 7. So you could say that I really didn't appreciate what was really going on until later on in life. But I remember watching on our old (probably 13") black-and-white TV with rabbit ears and Mama had rapped them with aluminum foil for better reception (so they say) watching for it seems like days. Really wished I understood back then. Goodbye Neil.

What's really scary is the closeness that we can all relate and the fact that many of us grew up knowing these people.
But the same was said about our parents with Bob Hope Fred, Estair, Ginger Rogers and countless others. Not mentioned here was Phillis Diller http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phyllis_Diller who had her own style of humor. Years ago was a one liner used by her: "You can't drink in front of the kids and when the kids aren't there, who needs it?" Yes, a line from back in the day when innocence was in the forefront, even with Phillis Diller. RIP |

Just found out that a TV hero of mine Tom Knapp has died at the age of 62 April 26.
His wife said he had Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was really great with a shotgun and broke several records shooting clay pigeons. Here's a video of him in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5uHt4AwYb4 Just click here for more information. 62, still way too young. He'll be missed by many for the ones who knew him.
