Dana 60 rear end ID

I am planning to buy a Dana 60 "floater" rear from a Dodge truck. I "think" it is the same as the one Willie B is modifying on the show to put under his RoadRunner. I'm a bit inexperienced regarding truck rear ends, ...so my question(s) are:

1. Is there more to being sure I have the "right" rear, or are they basically the same (except for the hubs and axles) as a 60's mopar dana 60 used in the Hemi cars (GTX, RR..)?

2. Can I lop off the ends and weld the bearing cups on and add passenger-type axles and go?

I just don't want to spend the money and then find out that....Ohhh, no you got the "wrong one"! (we've all been there).

Thanks for any help in advance!
