'85 eldo tips

Having an '85 Eldorado with 144,000 miles and she still runs very good,i'd like to go to a rebuilt 4.1 all aluminum engine as it has now BUT...who has reliable/quality parts/takes time to do it right so the engine can last another 100,000 miles with care as this one has.
Too many rebuilders say they do a quality job but who's better so i don't have a re-ground crank or camshaft,i want new parts maybe set up for a bit more power,NOT a speed demon just some more power to the engine.
She's a beauty to look at,sure she needs minor tlc like a pitman arn, brake vacuum fixed, and new paint but only as time goes by.
Cost is a huge factor in the engine price ya know, don't want some outfit putting in only fair parts to have it die after a few months,i've seen many friends get junk rebuilds even after spending GOOOOD money!
Is it okay to go with a higher flow water pump(if possible)for better cooling and maybe a oil cooler?Who has a real good throttle body unit, would like a fresh one at some point too!

how much experience at mechanics do you have? there are good shops everywhere and you will just have to search them out. a good place to start would be a trusted parts store.

Sometimes for certain parts, you get for what you payed for. When you ask a auto shop for a certain part, always ask what other brands they may have.

you will get what you pay for, the best shops can offer warranty. You my have to truck your engine down the road a ways to a production shop that does costom work

a good start is WWW.AERA.COM and ask about what you are looking for
