2002 Monte Carlo

I've got a 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo and I had new tires put on the car about a week ago. After that, the Service Tracking System light keeps coming on every time that I start the car up. Is this a bad thing? If I keep turning the track system off (an option on the car) how long can I go before this causes a problem? I don't know if putting the tires on the car really has anything to do with the warning light or not but it seems strange that they happened at the same time frame. In the manual, all it says is that this controls the spin on the wheels and that if the light comes on, you need to see the dealer. That sounds like money! Any suggestions?
