London Ohio car show - AC Shelby Cobra

Folks for the 4th or 5th year now London, Ohio, with the Ohio Cobra Club put on a car show and festival to raise money for Cistic Fibroses (SP?). I just found out about it this year. Over 200 replica cars and half dozen kit vendors were there. The police shut down Main Street and for a $10 donation you can hop in the passenger seat of a Cobra and do a burn out down main street for about 1/8th of a mile. The police put up an automatic radar sign.

I took a ride in a 2300 lb Seperformance, with a 460 (stroked to 513) Crate engine that was pumping out about 550 Hp. It was the guys first trip down the strip and he let off fairly early, as he wasn't sure of the stopping room. He still hit 87 MPH in 3rd gear! WOW WOW WOW what a ride. With street tires they have to take off kind of light until the tires hook up. When the tires hook and they turn the power on you can feal the blood drain out of you head.

What a week end. Folks this is much better than sex and only $10. I want one of these cars.

The motocross was the next day and yes $10 for a ride here as well. There was a Daytona and a GT40 there too.

There were Cobras with a V-10 Viper engine, Turbo Buick V-6, Z06 Vette engine and every Ford engine made. A fellow with a stroked Mopar 426 Hemi didn't make it this year.

Anyone close should consider coming next year. It is worth your time.

Gee for $100.00 I could get it out of my system...maybe not. Vetteonr took me for a burn out in his vette. It was so good that my camera flew back and I lost aim.

How far from Dayton is London Ohio? That would give me an idea where you are. Sounds like a good invite

I LOVE those links. I'd like to see more of those. Maybe Fort Street could hold a controlled lauch pad. Gee maybe Corv8 and I could get something going here. Thanks for the links.

London is about half way between Columbus and Springfield, just off of I70. It is likely less than an hour from Dayton, but I would have to look at a map to confirm that.

There were more links to more burnouts. Some were missing the audio. A few were goof balls that held the engine up against the rev limitter in lue of shifting gears. If I see some more video links I'll add them.

I got to tell you Porky this was a fun time for me. Where else can you take an 8 second 1/8 mile 100mph ride for $10. The 40 second moto cross ride was ausome.
