89 GMC jimmy, 2 new starters and still died!
89 GMC jimmy, 4.3 liter, 6 cylinder, 2 door, 4wd.. month ago, it wouldnt turn over, so got a new starter, wroked ok for 2 weeks, then died, got a new starter at NAPA, ac delco brand, same thing... has about 180,000 miles on it. COuld it be the alternator? loose ground perhaps? battery? maybe some wire?
any help appreciated! thanks: )

when you returned the starter did they check to be bad?

I would replace the battery cables. Battery cables are like a light bulb. Over time they loose amperes. Costs about $20 for a new set, positive and negative cables. Better starting power. Starter lasts longer. I have a rule of thumb here at home. If the battery needs to be changed. So does the cables. So figure every 3 years I put a new set of cables on.
