v10 emergency brake removal

I have a 1999 Holiday Rambler 35 ft RV with a ford v10. The drive shaft bolts connecting the shaft to the trans broke off. One sheared of and I have to tap it out. But I can't get the breake drum and off. The shaft in the center of the trans ( with the emergency brake bolted to it) is about 6 inches deep with a freeze plugin it,. I removed the freeze plig to see if there was a nut or bolt holding the emergemcy brake componet on it. Thre was not. Thre are splines visible. I have used a hammer puller to pop this conponent off. But it will not budge. Is ther a lock pin, c clamp ring anything in side the shaft that I have to somehoe remove. Or jus tkeep trying to pull the emergency brake componet off.
