K&N oil filters

What does everyone think of using K&N oil filters on your everyday wheels? Are they really that good?

i will ONLY use fram oil filters, but K&N AIR filters are great

fram is over-rated, wish i could remember where the report on oil filters was. fram didn't rate too high. wix is a good filter and not too expensive, i prefer ac for my gm's.

to each his own. ive used lots of diff filters and i perfer fram because their the easiest to replace and work best for me

not trying to bust your eggs here but how is one filter easier to replace than another?

they have that suregrip on it and it makes it hella easy to grab and turn, dont even need a filter wrench most times

A couple months ago I put a Fram filter on my SB 350. When I fired up the engine, I noticed the oil pressure had dropped 10psi across the board.

I pulled the Fram and switched to an AC. Oil pressure returned to normal. I don't know if my luck turned sour and I just got a bad one, but I use AC now.

i havent the foggiest idea what caused that. unless it was the wrong filter or a defective one, or it wont on all the way *shrugs* im still sticking with my preference. castrol gtx 20w-50 and fram double guard

for oil filters i use what ever the parts store has on sale that week. They all seem the same to me. but for fuel and air i use k&n.

I agree with thecarguy. If you change your oil often enough, any brand name filter will do. Different air filters do make a difference. K&N for instance has proven horsepower gains. Oil filters do one job, filter oil.
