1994 Taurus HELP
A couple of months ago i recieved a 1994 Ford Taurus GL w/3.8L.This was originally my Grandmothers car. Anyways the engine blew so I took it into my hands. I went through 4 engines before we came upon a good one(its a 1995 3.8L). Things worked great shortly after. Until My Tranny started to kick. The transmision was finally rebuilt 100%. Things worked great for another couple of days untill i found my self stuck only in 2nd gear. It went back to the shop day after day after day. They had the scanner hooked up with it and valve body's changed and shift kitz, cylinoids, everything you can imagine for the tranny. They managed to fix the problem. But now that the car drives again the major problem is that when 2nd gear comes in, the car kicks quite hard. I have spent over $4000 into this Transmission, and the boys at the garage cant seem to soften this 2nd gear shift any further. If i take this to another garage, I fear I will have to start from scratch all over.
Do you guys have any suggestions on what can be done. Thanxz |

with the cash you threw just in the tranny on this car you could of bought yourself a good car. sounds to me that this car is just a problem the belongs in the junkyard. if i were you id sell it and get as much as i could out of it then buy a new one. this shop u took it to 1) dosent have a clue, 2) belives you have no clue and is taking you for every dollar you have, or 3) gets defective parts or does halfa$$ installs of the parts. id take that car to a shop with people that you know and trust or if u dont know any goto a shop with a real good rep and have them look at it. cos this place here needs to be reported if you find the new shop can fix it with a keystroke or a turn of a wrench

why did you put 4 i mean 4?! good god. engines in that car? i woulda stopped after the 2nd new one. you should seriously look into getting what you can for that car because you're gonna dump more and more into that car it seems then its ever gonna be worth. 4k in tranny and having to replace this and that and tune this and compute that. you need to cut your losses and get a reliable car. im not trying to be an ***** or anything im just tellin it like it is

On the rough shifting problem, check out the governor in the tranny and make sure the drive gears are o.k., and also check the modulator valve for operation, and also check the fuse for the transmission and that should about find something for you.
I would like to ask a question about the engines that were put in your car and the question is, Where were the engines purchased, for instance junkyard, rebuilder or where? I would like to know why so many engines?????
