Goin' Digital!!

Hey, I may be getting digital cable soon sothat I can watch the TGG show!!!

On the other hand, i got some info on Wyotech the other day. It sounds like a great place to go. Just wondering if any of you know how much money you can make after completion of this school. Is there anyone that has gone to WYOtech? Did you like it there, what are you doing now? If I did go I would do both diesel classes, hot rod building and trim and upholstry, and probably chassis fabrication and high performance engines. If I had time and the money i would do them all probably!!! thanks for all the advice

As long as it is NOT the division of Universal Tech. School known as NASCAR tech. That place is an absoulute JOKE......clowns included.

By the way, if you see the latest ads showning a NASCAR race, followed by an ad for NASCAR tech, IT IS FALSE, AND MISSLEADING.

i am going to UTI, but definatly not nascar tech. Uti has many locations so go check one out. If your in the so cal area, the Rancho Campus is having an open house on feburary first. To each his own, id rather not freeze my butt off in wyoming, and uti is half owned by penske, to me that says alot. Uti offers manufactur training from almost 10 makers and wyo has none. Uti has desil and hot rod programs.

What programs or what can I do/ get into as a 16 year old. Our school has a vocational*(spelling?) program for automotive but all the have you do is break jobs for the first year. I already have a fair understanding out cars so that would just be a bore. Any ideas?

fotw...there are lots of things you can do. Do what I did. when I was 10 I started helping my uncle in his race shop. Then when I was 15 I started to get into off roading, I looked arround im my area and found a shop. I went to them and asked if they needed any help. At this time I knew nothing about off road fabrication. I would sweep, run errands, answer phones, file papers, all kinds of things; but in return I was learning the whole time. Im sure you can go find a shop in your area, even a repair shop, and see if there is anything you can do to help them, but also help your learning at the same time. You said you were in a shop class, thats a great start. Go arround to your community colleges or JC's and see if they have any shop classes. and there is nothing wrong with brake jobs, I think that learning brakes is the first test of your skills, especially drums.

All good tips

No matter what you know, you will need a peice of paper that says you know it. All employers need to verify what you know to pay you what you are worth. It really does come down to your education. The days of just being good are gone, for employment purposes anyway. You can be the best at it on your own. But to make a real good living at it, you need the training.
