350 Rocket

Well first of all I apprieciate all the help in the past and I hope a lot of suggestions come in about this project. Today 9/16/01 I had a car offered to me. It is a large family car that has the old 350 rocket in it along with a 400 transmission. The car has 88 thousand actual miles on it. The guy said the 350 is a big block, I dont know, yes the engine is quite a bit bigger than my regular 350. The intake is very wide like a big block. Is the 350 rocket a true big block? Does it have the same bolt pattern as the chevy 350. The guy said it was a 400 it was a square trans pan that looked like it could hold a few extra quarts of fluid. How rare is the 350 rocket and about how much horsepower did it come with? The car can be driven home and he only wanted 150.00 dollars for it all. Could the old rocket be a performance project or is best to pass up?

All help will be apprieciated.
