Hairline Crack From Valve Job

Guys I need experienced replies to this one. When the new valve guides were installed, the casting around new guides split ever so slightly (1/4-3/8 inch) at the bottom in the bowl area. The cast head is very thin there. Up top where valve spring goes around, its solid. The crack is pointing in that direction with at least 1" of non cracked cast. Valve spring pressure being a Cadillac is probably on the low side.

Anyone experience this? Its all intakes on 1 head. Other is fine cause it was machined more down the center from factory. The fact its a intake is freekin me out. The shop said he didnt grind it away cause might make it worse.

if it's cracked it is only a matter of time until it opens up more from the heat, oil will probably get by and you will have an oil possible plug fouling/smoking issue. it would not cause a compression problem.

I would get a different head, as soon as it gets hot a few times the crack will get worse.
