56 wagon heart surgery and then some

Hello , I dont post often but I check and read whats going on. I asked about head numbers once and responded to beefy's question about fabric dye. Here is what I have been upto on my 56 wagon . Let me know what you think . I have not started the body work , have to finish my wife's 56 before i can do my wagon. Its nice having your wife telling you to go play with the cars.

Hey that looked liked alot of work, but the end is near and the best part you did it all yourself ,with a little help from your son. Its good to see a father and son working together, I was glad that me and my father was able to work on cars together. Be sure to post the finshed product. You never know he might be the next Jesse James.

Thanks

Thanks Guys. I am dieing to get out and give it a drive, but I am currently waiting on a master cylinder and power booster. Hopefully the weather will be nice when I get it installed. When I get pics of my wife's sedan up I will post them as well. Had to learn welding to even start on hers , kinda a trial by fire thing. About 2/3 of the lower sheet metal is new. Beefy did you see the pics of the door panel before and after that was done with the vinal dye. Seams to be holding up pretty good.

Proportioning valve

Has anybody installed a proportioning valve before? When I did the original conversion to manuel disk brakes the valve was located below the master cylinder and close to the driver inner fender. The new booster and master are much closer to the inner fender and things are very tight . What are the rules so to speak on mounting a valve?

1 do I need to keep it below the master? I was wondering about being able to bleed the system if it was to high.

2 how far from the master can I mount it?

Thanks Kurt

wagon update and a problem

Hello

I now have New tires and the power brakes installed , BUT I have a problem. The transmission is leaking (alot) from what appears to be the cover plate for the torque convertor. It seams to be ok when running (not leaking), but when I shut It off It looks like I just knock over a bottle of ATF. It was a rebilt transmission made to handle higher horse power and a new summit torque convertor. I am afraid I am going to need to pull this thing out again in order to fix it.. Any body got any ideas

Thanks Kurt

Well, it is pretty much going to have to be the front seal. Perhaps the seal was damaged during install.
If nothing else you will have to pull it to inspect it. I would get with Summit and see what they think.

BTW, that cover plate is called an inspection plate or dust cover depending on who you are talking to. Just trying to save you some funny looks.

which transmission are you using? the early 700r4's were notorious for blowing the front seal out
