Daniel, Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hang in there buddy.

I haven't been on here much lately as taking five classes is kicking my butt. It will be over in about three weeks and then I'll have about three weeks off before it starts again. I'm about ready to call quits. I'm too dam old to try and retain so much new info. Makes my head hurt.

I'll have to check out your link at school as between this old computer and being on dial up, I don't even try to view some things at home.
Here is a site yall may want to check out. http://www.patriotguard.org

Found this interesting, a guy with a grinder turns a narrow white wall or raised letter into a fat wide white wall like the old cars.

Duffy's new mission...

Friday (My day off) I rode with the "Patriot Guard Riders" (PGR) to welcome home a Marine from overseas. Here's the ride captain's description:......
Yes, He's a writer....

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: WELCOME HOME, LANCE CPL DAVID TANKELEWICZ!

It was a glorious day, and a glorious ride. The perfect condtions under which to welcome an American Warrior back to his home.

70 RIDERS TURNED OUT FOR THIS ESCORT. And, as always, the Philadelphia Highway Patrol were phenominal.

We all gathered in the sunshine at Engine 69 on Bartram Ave just outside the airport. Then the Highway Patrol arrived, sirens blaring, with a big white limo carrying the Marine's dad and other family members.

Then, in answer to a call from Joe Hanson, PGR and Highway Patrolman, we got an Airport police car to join us and lead us back to the airport.

This convoy attracted one hell of a lot of attention at the airport, that's for sure. We pulled over and dismounted, waited about 20 minuets while the Marine's plane landed. He was taken off the plane out on the tarmak with his bag, and brought out through a service door. When that garage-style metal door rolled up, the Marine was stunned by the sight of his family, the Philly Police, and 70 Flag-wielding PGR forming a corridor leading up to the limosine.

Salutes, applause, and cheers welcomed this Marine to his home turf.

Then we mounted up and, lights flashing and sirens wailing, headed up Rt 95. The Highway Patrol wheels did their usual OUTSTANDING job of leapfrogging up to cut off every entrance and ramp, and we made record time up 95 despite the 45mph speed (for flagged bikes.)

WHAT A SIGHT, AND SOUND, ALL THESE ROARING BIKES AND POLICE SIRENS SCREAMING AS WE ENTERED THE PARKING LOT OF THE "EGGS NEST," where we parked and dismounted to have a beer with this young hero and his PROUD DAD.

Photos flashed, people hugged, it was just an all-around GOOD RIDE, A GOOD DAY FOR A GOOD CAUSE.

Before they went into the bar I presented a PGR Mission Accomplished Pin to the Marine, hugged him and slapped his back. and I made it clear that I was only representing ALL OF YOU, ALL PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS EVERYWHERE, AND A GRATEFUL NATION.

Patriot Guard, Lance Cpl David Tankelewicz thanks you, his family (and especially his dad) thank you, the Philadelphia Highway Patrol thanks you, and as the rc for this happy (for a change!) mission, I THANK YOU. As always, you have done yourselves, your organizaitons, the PGR, and your nation PROUD.

- lutz (I will add an edit to this post when I have the links to some photos - a lot were taken today.)

Your Welcome, sounds like a good time. I haven't been on any of The Patriot Guard rides yet but see on their web site that they have a ride pending about 50 or 60 miles from me. If that ride takes place, I will do my best to join them. Sadly that ride will be for a brave young man that gave his life for his Country.

That's the "usual mission"... luckily the 20th was a happy occasion, and a really good one for my first. I have plenty of vacation time, and if there's another (happy or "other"), I'll be there.

I ask my friend who is a pilot for Delta Airlines does this stuff really happen and he said that I would really be surprised.

Would you like to fly out of this Airport, who's telling who what to do?

This was kind of cool and I can be considered a little devil at times.
I went over to a neighbor's to help her assemble her new BBQ. When complete I noticed this rather large tie-wrap thing around the front handle. There was a little cavity containing something. So it got the better of me and I opened it up. It was a ferrite core wrapped in a coil of fine wire and a capacitor. Obviously this was an anti-theft alarm. She mentioned she bought it at Home Depot. Being involved with electronics I pocketed the piece rather than throw it out. I'd play with it later.

Later came as my wife and I went shopping to a local department store. I forgot it was in my pocket. I tripped the store alarm on the way in, did our shopping and I tripped the alarm on the way out. I had a prepared speech if I was pulled aside.

I'm trying to figure out what other devilish things I can do.
She bought it during an outside sale so I suppose the young kid forgot to disarm it or remove it. My toy now..until I get bored

I now have a slight theory on how these things work

I learned something new today, the left stripe painted under dale earnhardt jr monte carlo headlight, is because of that singer that died in 2002, Everyone knew her as left eye, from a group called TLC. She died in a suv roll over. So he had a stripe painted under the left headlight in memory of her. I found that intresting, plus I think it's nice that people remember others that are gone.

Sure you noticed, you wouldn't be human if you didn't. But I'll bet the Misses didn't appreciate you messing around with somebody else's handles.

And I'm glad you now know what there for!
