Non union but just lazy and without leadership. Most of them including some supervisors are the kind of people with their pants below their butt and it takes them 3 minutes to go through their handshake routine.
I hope to escape soon.

Has anyone had the chance to see the two-hour show You Don't Know Dixie?
I really enjoyed it.

Was that the biography on Dixie Carter who died recently? She was married to Hal Holbrook.
However, I get the feeling you're talking about the South. ![]()

I didn't know that Dixie Carter had died. Really sorry to hear that.
And yes, I was referring to the South.

Hello Everyone
I have not wrote in a while, lots of problems in the last year has kind of left me speechless. I wont go into all of it, I will warn of one thing, this COPD is for real. I thought, when the doc said I was in advanced stage of it that he was crazy, well i am here to tell you that all those little warnings, on spray cans, cleaners and even snoreing should be taken serious. My breathing is getting worse by the day, at first I thought I could beat it and even forget about it, that aint happening. It is for real. I have never been able to smell anything and always had chemical type jobs that I never knew what had or was affecting me. Please take heed to the warnings as one day it will catch up to you. I know first hand. And the meds I take, 4 of them not counting the machine (C-PAP) I wear at night just keep me able to be normal, I cant over do anything. I have proved that to myself also. One med I take the main side effect is pheumonia and I have had it now three times in a little over a year. So that leads me to what I wanted to post in the first place. Jeez!
I have lost hearing in my left ear due to it blowing the ear drum from the inside out twice and one of those times there were two holes. The right ear is healed and hearing is about 30% lower than it should be given my age. The 5th of October I have ear surgery and the ear specialist said he has never seen anything like it. He does all his surgery at a out-patient clinic but is doing this surgery at a hospital instead. Hearing is not promised after the surgeries but he feels that it will come back to me after time. It has been a long summer learning to read lips or not hearing anything unless I am looking directly at you when you speak. But on the other hand I can ignore the ole' lady when I want too! lol I just ask for your thoughts and a prayer or two. I am sure I am more worked up than I need to be, I have had headaches for months and the swelling inside of my ears will hopefully be gone next week. Thanks for reading and I am looking forward to getting back into the conversations we have always had on here. I still have my Fords, and lucky for me they have been trouble free. Oil change and filters are all they ask. The exploreer sport trac has been a awsome and trustworthy vehicle since day one. If I can ever get it started I am sure it will run just as good as it looks. LOL I had to put that in there for the certain few that will respond to the Ford part of this post! It runs fine.

I am really at peace with what ever the outcome is. About everyone has sat at one time and thought about "what if" they lost there hearing or sight. Losing it in one side really matters. I thank all of you for the good words, I know that it really helps to have kind words and thoughts in troubled times. I will let you all know when I hear anything! PUN intended lol

It's officially over, the NASCAR banquet came on late last night. I can remember when watching it was really fun. They'd talk about the drivers and their accomplishments during the season. Not like today's hoopla!
I must be old-fashioned, because I think from the late 90s on back (at least the ones that were shown on TV) were the best. The only good thing now is the safety aspect of it all. Really wished my hero was here and a lot of others that lost their lives. I still like racing, but it's not like it used to be as far as I'm concerned.

I lost interest years ago. They used to race cars that I could actually buy. Now they are overgrown go-carts, with body panels, and engines that haven't been produced for 25-30 years now.
The manufacturers used to be fully involved and the knowledge gained at the track was used to improve the cars that were sold to the public. Well at least I like to believe that. Let them race modern technology on pump gas and limit the gallons. When they loose the race because they ran out of gas on the last lap, I believe MPG will increase. Put the focus on winning races where the nation needs to improve. Oh well, it's just a thought. |

I'll be honost-I do NOT get NASCAR at all. How does STOCK CAR fit into anything they do anymore. Last I knew the roof and trunk lid were the only stock parts on any of them. Time to change the name to maybe OVERPRICED REDNECK MACHINES YOU CAN'T REALLY BUY or something like it. The only time NASCAR is interesting is when they have crashes. If your going to do all custom stuff, give me a top fueler, 0-300+ in 5 seconds with more power in 1 cylinder than an entire NASCAR engine-NITROMETHANE BABY!
