finding a car

I want to ask you guys here about finding a certain car. When I was about 24yrs old I had a 1977 T-Am and I have always missed that car since I had to sell it when I was layed off from my job.
I would like to find a 1977 or 78 for that matter as both years had the same front design. I would like the body to be in fair shape from rust because I find it hard now doing bodywork because I work from a wheelchair and it gets pretty dirty and dusty not to metion the paint to clean off.
Well anyway if any of you know for a simuliar car please let me know because I have been looking locally for nine years with no luck. The car I owned had a black ext, firethorne red int,403cu/in olds w/4speed. Mine didn't have a t-bar,air,p/w. So if anybody knows for one you have a buddy.

I rechecked the add beefy and sure enough it states 400 big block. I hope he means a nice blue block with a number 3 hanging in there.

I missed it the first time. There is a 400 in there several times.
I hate it when I am wrong. Jeez.........

Then there is the weirdo that thinks there is no such thing as a big block 400.

OK I was still correct. Those are the Horsepower ratings.

Check this site out. It is where I got this info. It looks funny copied and pasted.

This may not be correct but! I have seen at some cruise nights some 68 to 72 Chev trucks with a 400 emblem on the fender and under the hood is a big block ?

these trucks have been original or restored. was it the 402 and they just called it a 400 for the same reason they called the 402 a 396 in the 71 or 72 Chevelle, because it sounded better and people were used to 396.

I dont know, but everytime I heard somebody say 400 Big Block and I lloked at it it was a Small Block or a 396. I have never seen a 402.
I almost bought a 67 Impala SS with a 427 and a 4-speed in 1977 or 78 for $650. It was hard coming up with that kind of money when I spent all my time in the bars and chasing chicks.

ya I am pretty sure that the 71 or 72 Chevelle SS had SS396 on the fender but that Cubic displacement was 402.

you are right the 400 was a small block , my brother had one built for his car .

I will do some searching for some Chevelle sites to check on the 402 thing.
