Oil Pan filling up with gas

1986 Ford Ranger 2.9L - Oil Pan filling up with gas.

We put on a new Fuel Pressure Regulater.

Injector(s) must be staying open !?

That would make the most sense and is my guess. I have seen an engine hydralic lock because the cylinders filled up with gas.

Take your sparkplugs out and turn the key on (do not crank) and see which holes gas runs out of.

Believe it will be the drivers side rear - will see.

Then what - LOL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Being old and old school - white smoke coming out of tail pipe like London Fog, I pulled the heads ............... no bolts wanted to cooperate .. has nearly kilt me off. Back together and now I know it's gas dump related. Had never seen gas make white smoke out the tail pipe ................. so I thought head gasket - %$$%&
Thought the new Fuel Pump Requlater would fix - nope !
What then? We assume that injector to be faulty.
Note:
If this truck has ever been overheated:
The early 2.9 had a problem with heads, if the engine was overheated there is a very real chance of a cracked head. This would cause your white smoke condition. If this is the case then use heads from an 88 or later.
It is critical that the cooling systems on these vehicle are kept in good repair.
BTW, if you can't find parts locally, let me know as I have parts out the wazzoo.
It was a lot of white smoke before I took it apart - London Fog Whiteout behind the truck at idle - it only done that for less than a minute when the youngster shut it down. I got it back together yeaterday afternoon - turned it over some and it wioldn't hit - battery wend doen .................. and I suspected the hydrolic affect again ( Maybe not actual though ). Did a spark check and had spark - a little out of time I'm sure, but it should have kicked.
Batt charger on it right now - things to check in a little while ... past work has me worn down.
Hasn't started since back together - one short try only. Before though, there was serious whiteout from the tailpipe and a oil pan full of gas.
Are you saying that you had Hydralic lock?
Hydrolic lock gereneraly breaks things like pistons, piston pins and connecting rods. It can also cause your head gasket to blow.
No Hydrolic Lock - just indacators of pressure problem in the way it turned over - wasn't an even turning.
KC and All - Just had a few minutes to work on it, .... I can't find any spark getting to the plugs and that's why it hasn't fired since I put it back together - I'll double verify and track it down in the morning and then see if it roars ( Without kicking out a fog ).
Welcome to the forum Michigander. It's good to another Michigan guy on here. Check out the thread "OK, whose coming" in off topic to read about our gathering here in Michigan. You might be familiar with it if you're from this part of the state.
BTW beefy.......how long are you going to let him call you KC?
Vetteonr & Beefy's Bronco: Shortcitted to KC back there because my Battery was low - pooped actually. I go back a ways - nuts and bolts starting in 1955 ....... Drafted in 1961. Raced at Sibly & Dicks ( Detroit ) & Onadaga near Jackson. I'm 40 miles from you Vetteonr - near Adrian Mi.
283-327-350 built to the max - liked all cars, but the Chev was easy to make fly. Built some Fords, worked for fords 37 years. Olways loved the Vett's but never owned one myself - had na nice Pontiac 389 ( I think 389 ) tri-power 4 on floor for crusing with the gals - other cars as well. My big zoomer was built into a 55 Chev body .... 13 in the quarter back in 60, got drafted soon after built. Now I drive a 04 Ford Explorer V8 .. just got it. Would love to build another machine, $$$$$$$$$.
Got up feeling rough this morning - haven't checked out the 86 Ranger ( Red Rocket ) for why no spark yet - need to get it running and hope doesn't fog the town when it does fire. The new Fuel Pressure Reg should have fixed the problem - that's what I've learned after having pulled the heads - LOL.
Nice Chariots you two have there !!!!
