Canada Day or something like that.

To all our Canadian Brethren I would like to say Happy Canada Day!

We just got back from watching Canada's fireworks show and it was pretty decent too. Ours is way better.

Just waitin for a response huh?

It's Canada's Birthday, July 1st 1867. 137 years ago
Unfortunately most Canadians don't fly our Maple Leaf Flag like you guys do. I raised a big stink about that on a local radio talk show and another radio forum. Don't get me wrong we do fly the flag and many more are flown during Canada Day, but the hoopla here is not as big as in the US.

When we celebrate things, it tends to be low key. Why? I have no idea. Many of my fellow Canadians feel as I do, many don't.

That said, I fly my Canadian flag so to lead rather than follow.
During 9/11, one could see Canadian/American flags as far as the eye could see. So.....We do have our passion, we just don't show as much as we should. I heard a couple of angry people this morning, on the radio, saying exactly what I just said.

Quebec? true but you got in backwards.

Hope everyone enjoyed his own celebration. Happy brithday to all of us.

It's been a bed of hot coals for decades. Ontario plates are not welcome in certain areas of Quebec. many Quebecers have moved here over the last several years.

I wish that all political arenas around the world would grow up and get along. but the story of life says otherwise.

There were a lot of non-flag flying people in this country prior to 911 porky. I personaly have flown a flag outside my home for the last 25 years. Sometimes it takes a national disaster to bring out the pride in folks. One sad thing I noticed, there were fewer flags flying this holiday than last year.

That's really weird, Al. (Hmmm you related to Weird Al?)

Anyway, when I was down in the New England states they fly plenty of Old Glory down there. Houses, stores and vehicles. I thought it was really cool. I also saw the same in Ohio.
Even around .fotw's turf there's a lot > in comparison<
