truck will not start
I have a 74 chevy ¾, 4x4, custome pick-up not sure of the engine size. It looks like heck but runs great. The right tank seems to have a leak. What I did was bypass the tank switch and hook the left tank directly to fuel line. After doing that the truck would not start, so I put things back the way it was and I still will not start.
What do I need to do to get the truck running again? |

you might have some air in your line.try pulling the hose off the fuel pump and see if you got gas to it. if no gas, blow into the hose to see if it's pluged. if not pluged put hose back on, pour some gas in the carb and try to start. you may have to do it a couple of times to get the gas to pump up.

I did pull hose off fuel pump, there was no gas, I put some gas in the carb, a few times; still nothing. I will try blowing in the line

If you put gas down the carb and it will not fire, you have other "issues". Pull the fuel line off the carb and get a can under the line, have a helper spin the engine a couple of turns and see if your getting anf fuel to the carb. BE CAREFUL, have some baking soda or a fire extinguisher around in case you have a calamity.

if you have fuel to the carb, check to see if the carb is delivering fuel by opperating the throttle. if there is fuel, you have other problems.
