87 buick centry code 41
I keep getting a code 41 on my 87 buick centry 3.8v6. The code to my knowledge means the cam sensor is gone or the computer which I have replaced both. Three days later engine runs rough and code 41 again. Any ideas on this one??

According to my book, A code 41 can be:
1) No distributor signal to ECM or faulty ignition module 2) Can sensor circuit fault or ignition control reference pulse error 3) Cylinder selector error 4) Quad 4 1X reference pulse error 5) EST circuit open or shorted (Caddilac) 6) Opti Spark EST circuit open of grounded (5.7 liter F and Y bodies) Since you have replace the cam sensor and computer, I would suspect an intermittant problem with the ignition module or bad connection. |
