Simple battery question
I was wondering if corroded battery cables would cause the battery to lose its charge?

Not likely, BUT is could impede the recharging from the alternator.

Doug, he also probably has corrosion where the battery clamp contacts the battery post... I mean, if it's that apparent......

I guess I don't know why it matters anyway. Have the battery checked and fix the corrosion. That's the only solution here.

Thanks guys. I know how to take care of it, I just wasn't sure if corroded cable terminals would cause a drain, and if so, could it be recharged.

not likely to cause a drain or discharge but as doug said would maybe not charge.

And to the poster. Corrosion in the cables will prevent charging and also effect the ignition system. |
