It's more complicated, you'll probably need the computer and possibly some of the wiring from the automatic too.

John if it was a old car or truck, I'd say go for it. But theres so much stuff on these new trucks. It would be easier to convert a automaic to a manual. But automatic to manual is alot of work and money. Unless, you have another truck just like it that you can take parts from. I think you should go on carsoup.com or something like that, and find yourself a truck with the automatic in it. Theres also dealerships on there that would do a trade. I myself was on there the other night looking for a k1500 with a 4.3 (chevy)auto 4x4 and did find a few.

It isn't too complicated to do. Just like Justen said, you need a donor vehicle to work from. And if this isn't a primary transportation vehicle, then it would be fine.
People have done swaps all the time, i have done it myself If you have the time, patience in finding parts, and dont want to buy an auto truck then you need to look for the following Harness computer driveshaft transmission flex plate torque converter Radiator fabricate or find cooling lines new pedals or remove the clutch pedal shifter, shifter cable display for shifter conversion for speedo ? there might be a little more odds and ends |
